New Holland Construction names Smalls Landscaping 2013 Landscaper of the Year

RACINE, Wis. (Dec. 3, 2012) – New Holland Construction and Total Landscape Care magazine today announced the winner of the 2013 Landscaper of the Year program – an annual program that recognizes the best and brightest from among thousands of professionals who work in the landscaping industry. Nancy Marshall and Becky Whitacre, owners of Smalls Landscaping Inc. located in Valparaiso, Indiana, will be featured on the cover of the January 2013 edition of Total Landscape Care magazine. The 11 other Landscaper of the Year program finalists will be featured in the magazine throughout 2013.

Sponsored by New Holland Construction and produced by Total Landscape Care, the Landscaper of the Year program honors landscapers who exemplify the highest standards of their profession, including business acumen, quality and aesthetic excellence of their project work, marketing and equipment management expertise, attention to safety and community involvement.

Smalls Landscaping was selected for its outstanding examples of ambitious landscaping design and construction projects for well-known clients, ranging from Oprah Winfrey to celebrity athletes. The company also provides unique and artistic plantings and landscapes for smaller properties that are equally dazzling.

Smalls family business was founded in 1940 by the sisters’ parents, Walter & Helen Small.  “My parents instilled a tremendous amount of knowledge, a passion for landscaping and a strong work ethic in both of us. We’re proud to carry on their vision today and are thrilled to be the recipients of the Landscaper of the Year award,” shared Nancy Marshall.

The 12 finalists and their guests joined representatives from New Holland Construction and Total Landscape Care for an all-expenses-paid cruise to the Bahamas, Nov. 9-11. All of the finalists will also receive a free, one-year lease on a New Holland 200 Series Skid Steer Loader, along with a toolbox set valued at more than $2,500.
